MaitreGuest Privacy Notice
In short
When you chat with or call the AI host on a restaurant's website, your messages are recorded for the restaurant. Maitre runs the host for the restaurant, and its AI provider, OpenAI, writes the answers. Chats are deleted after 90 days, and Maitre does not keep voice audio. Nothing is sold, shared for ads or used to train AI models. Ask the restaurant, or email us, to see or delete your data.
1. What is collected
- What you type or say. Your messages, and the text of a voice call. The voice audio itself is streamed to OpenAI to make the text and to tell when you have finished speaking, and it is not kept by Maitre.
- Your order, if you place one. The items, the choices, the pickup time and the pickup name you give. After you pay on Square's page, Maitre reads the email address you gave Square from the restaurant's order and uses it only to send your order emails: the confirmation with the estimated pickup time, a ready-for-pickup note and a cancellation note if the restaurant cancels. Maitre does not store that address.
- Network details. Your network address is turned into a one-way code used to stop abuse and enforce limits. The restaurant never sees the address. Cloudflare works out your approximate city and time zone, so the host can answer questions about hours and weather.
- Your device type and screen size, so the chat fits the screen.
- In your own browser. The chat, the location you picked, an unfinished order and the menu you chose are saved for about one day, so the chat survives moving between the restaurant's pages.

3. How long it is kept

4. What we never do
Maitre does not sell your information, share it for advertising, show you ads, or track you across other websites. Maitre does not build a voiceprint. Maitre keeps your messages only as the restaurant's service provider and uses them for no purpose of its own. Maitre does not use them to train AI models, and OpenAI's terms for this service say it does not train its models on them either.
5. Your choices and rights
You do not have to use the host. You can call or visit the restaurant instead.
The restaurant decides how your chat is used, so ask the restaurant first to see, correct or delete it. You can also email team@hiremaitre.com. We pass requests to the restaurant within 10 business days and help it answer. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights. The Privacy Policy lists them and explains how to use them.
The host is not meant for children under 13. If you think a child has used it, email us and we will delete that chat.
